Catching Up

When the flu visits it brings along it friends laundry, disinfecting etc.

I am close to being caught up on laundry and disinfecting and we are pretty well over the yuck. Clara is the last sicky and is getting better. It was a quick moving bug thankfully.

Aaron got my upper cabs hung in the dish coffee area. Here is a picture. I am hoping to talk him into getting the back splash cut and up this evening. *big grin*

There is still an end panel to put on the light colored end. It will match the cabs. I am not sure why, but the lower cabs always look so dark! They all match in color! The tops are a pretty good picture of the color, just a hair lighter.

Right door is coffee, tea, cups, etc. Left door is plates, bowls, etc.

Tummy Flu

The tummy flu of 2011 that has been making it rounds and has found our household. I was praying that I just got food poisoning when I started to feel yucky Wednesday night, but my fears were confermed this afternoon when Sir Andrew started to "up-chuck". I will spare the gory details of piles of laundry, etc, and see everyone on the other side. With pictures of the kitchen progress!

Until then, go light a good smelling candle for me will you?

One plus to sicko's, is lots of cuddles!

King Family Cold Tea

We love this stuff. It taste good and also is loaded with cold fighting stuff.

Mix together: 1/2 cup dried yarrow, 1/2 cup dried thyme, 1/2 cup chamomile, 1/4 cup peppermint.  Boil a gallon of water and steep with herbs for 20 mins. Strain out herbs and keep simmering on stove. Drink tons, sweeten with honey and add in a little lemon if desired.

The yarrow is loaded with cold fighting properties, the thyme helps rid your body of mucus. The others help make it taste good!

Yuck

I said the kids were fighting colds. They have been 100% for the last couple days and it seemed that we were all clear. Me just squeeking by with one and 1/2 days of off feeling, stuffy headed stuff. Not bad.
That was before last night. We had big plans on going to bed very early, as we were very tired. Well, Aaron had a couple calls and I was up with the kids who did not sleep well. Around 2 am, when Andrew woke up, I started to feel like I swallowed something that burnt the back of my mouth and down. I am now feeling AWFUL and just want to be in bed. Pray I get feeling better!

Back?

Well after a couple positive looking day. Where people were feeling better, starting to have normal appetites and bubbly personalities...the yuck is back :( Aaron has got it and at about 3 am Flora woke up and threw up a bit, not a lot, but still. This is going to be a day of a lot of coffee for this wife/mama!

Would you all please remember us in your prayers? Thanks!

Better

We are on the mend I think. I may be speaking to soon, but we shall see. I have great hope. We got a bunch of Vit D today as we enjoyed some spring weather.

Clara and I started to feel better yesterday, right as Flora started throwing up. She only threw up twice last night, but has been runny today. So far, Aaron and Andrew are ok!

I stocked up on ginger ale and homeopathics today, just encase!

Sickies

Clara woke up from her nap...the first clue, she slept!...at about 3 pm, throwing up. She has since done so 4 times. It got me thinking about what we do for the sickies in our house and I though we would share. Lots of cuddles, warm baths, a movie in mom and dads bed...well for the little set. If its Aaron and I we sleep as much as we can :)

Depending on what the yuck is, I treat with herbs and lots of good homemade food. We don't run to the doctor with every little sniff and sneeze, but try what we can at home, and then if its bad enough, or a bacterial infection we can't fight, we go. Just a heads up, I am sure I will not be posting to often until everyone is "all better"

Happy Sabbath!
