Thoughts on Clothing

A while ago Aaron got me the Duggars book "20 and Counting" I was challenged by a couple things and got some really good ideas. One of them was the Family Closet. Where all the kids clothing is in one place, usually by the laundry room. I love this idea, so organized and it would make laundry so much quicker to have everything "right there".
While we do not have the room in our laundry area (its in the hall), or space to do this at this house, it has really got me thinking on organizing the clothing better. Right now the girls have their closet (small, blanket storage and hanging clothes) and two dressers. The top two drawers of the largest as been a mess of panties, tights, socks, hats and gloves. Socks that are way to small, and have no mates. So yesterday, Aaron put ALL the clothing into bags and I went through them. Nice clothes in one pile, play clothes in another. I also went through all the socks and such. Now, all the nice clothing will be in one dresser, and the play in the other.
Our girls like dressing them selves, but usually end up grabbing something that is nice. This way, the clothes will last longer, and the already play clothing will be just that!

Andrew has his own dresser, and is young enough that we are still dressing him.

I don't know why I didn't think of this sooner, but what can I say....something I can be a little slow...hehe!

What are some of your favorite organizing tips? I would love to hear them!
