Last summer with all the canning and no screens we were over ran with fruit flies. They drove me nuts. When I started noticing them coming back for their summer visit, I set out to find a way to get rid of them. This is what I found.
1/2 cider vinegar
a couple drops of dish soap
Put it in a jar, lid off. It takes a day or so before the little boogers start to notice it. Also, make sure you don't leave food out. I found that I have to keep my chicken scraps (the problem in out house) outside. The flies LOVE the "juice" and I am a very happy woman (with no fruit flies in her kitchen! )
