Honoring a Hero

I found out last night that a hero who I remember meeting when I was a child, has died.

VERNON BAKER

I was 10 or 11 when he received his metal some 50 years later. A good friend of went back east with him, and when he returned he let me hold his metal. I don't really remember much about him, and it I have not seen then is years, but I felt like I needed to post something to remember this hero.
