"I believe the nicest and sweetest days are not those on which anything very splendid or wonderful or exciting happens, but just those that bring simple little pleasures, following one another softly, like pearls slipping off a string."

Burning Energy

We have had rain the last couple days, and our yard is muddy and wet. The kids are feeling antsy and have extra energy to burn. What to do????
Flora being her goofy self, with a shinny hat!
Our house is long, with a nice long hall way. Starting at the dinning room to our bedroom door is a clear shot. Here is what we do. Each time the kids run back to our door, touch it, and run back to us (5 times!) they get a penny. Both the girls earned 6 pennies today!

Clara peeking out of a well loved birthday card. When the girls get mail, they love it to death! Its carried around for days, set aside, rediscovered and love again! They LOVE getting mail!

This is fun for the kids, a tad loud (but we are used to it) and burns off some extra energy!
What are some of your families favorite rainy day, energy burning activities???

The Dew, who enjoyed his chocolate pudding!
