Fit Friday

Before we left for the Feast I decided to take a break from WW. I wasnt tracking my meals daily and it seemed like a waste of money to me. I have the meals down, I have not gained anything, and if I make sure to excersise daily I lose weight. SO! I am going to focus on getting in at lease 30 mins of a work out daily, keep eating good whole foods and not a lot of sweets, and since winter is coming, we are going to get a member ship to the local gym again. We love doing it last winter and the girls are looking forward to swimming again!

I am very happy that I was good, and didn't gain anything at the Feast!

Home Sweet Home (and ME!) -Improvements

These are a little late in coming, but I want to get them up. Since we will be documenting all the improvments me make on our "home sweet home" I didn't want to leave them out.

For homeowners insurance to cover the house, we had to fix a couple things. One of the the eve soffits was wood, and unpainted. It was falling apart. We (meaning Aaron) took down the old wood, made sure the end of the roof supports (or what every you call them) were in good shape, then put up new wood and covered it in the metal soffiting like whats on all around the rest of the house:

We have these huge old willow type trees (three of them) and while are are great shade, that are a pain when it comes to the branches. While we went camping and visiting Mom and Mandi, he cut the branches off the roof area. Before, they were touching the roof badly.

Later this fall, we are going to replace the patio roof, with new, clean, clear fiberglass! It will let in a lot more light this winter, what with the branches gone!

This is my kitchen light from Roc Corbett. We bought it to put above the sink when we remodel, but its just to pretty to have packed away, so we put it above the sink right now and will move it later. I LOVE my light!

Sorry the pictures are not the greatest. It was dark out, and I was not level with the light so you get to see the light bulb. When the light is unplugged it is pinks and purples and irradecent shades of purples and a bit of blues. Lite, it looks like it has more yellows in it. You can also see the trim and cupboard colors we painted earlier this summer. See that bit of yellow with the green....thats what the kitchen was painted BEFORE we moved in, that, and a very blue blue. EEP!

One more lb lost this week! I had a good week food and work out wise. I have a new plan to walk with a neighbor 5 days a week. I am looking forward to the time together and also the motivation to walk daily!

Fit Friday

Nothing lost this week. I need to get better about getting a work out in. Even if its just a walk to get the mail the long way, then a t-tapp video every day! I have been walking with Lyla to get the mail almost every day, which is good for her and me. Wednesday my work out was walking. We walked all over Costco, Winco and Wal-mart. I also ran into the Teachers store. I figured I got about 2- 2 1/2 hours of walking in. Not make your hear rate race walking, but it all counts.

Since Andrew is sleeping in our room, I am making the other room a sewing/guest/work out room. :) It only has one plug in on the wall by the door and the treadmill fits perfectly. I also have a loveseat in there and am going to build a day bed with a trundle for when we have company.

I will try to get pictures this week! Motivation to get it set up just perfectly!

Fit Friday's

I was reminded earlier this week that I had not done a Fit Friday post in a while. I have been awful at remembering to post for the week. Fridays are one of our busier days, with Sabbath prep and also now that Aaron's work schedule has changed.

This last month or so I have been doing pretty good. The weight is not flying off, but slowly I am getting in better shape a losing the extra weight I need to. My body seems to have a pattern in weight loss, one week I will lose a pound or two, then the next, nothing. I don't do anything different the weeks I don't lose, but I know slower weight loss is healthier for me and my body, so I am fine with it.  I am still doing Weight Watchers, and not eating a bunch of sugar. We went though a stretch where we ate wheat, which my body just can't handle. It make me feel awful and gives me a headache, which in true, is a good excuse not to get the movement I need!

I have to admit that I have been awful about getting in my work outs, above and beyond house work, etc.  I do have the a good reason to get a walk in every day, since Lyla needs the work out. She is very much a puppy and need to wear off some of that energy. She is also in the working dog category, so thrives on DOING. :-D

We are changing up our schedule for us adults....ok...really...just me for the most part! Before, our morning were rather slow, with most of the house work and such in the afternoons or when the kids were in bed. Well, I am starting my business and want to make sure I have some time in the afternoons to devote to that. So, my goal is to wake up and get my T-Tapp work out in and shower before breakfast. Then it will be house work etc. Leaving the afternoons open for naps, my sewing, school, etc.

Weight loss this week: 1 lb

Back on Track

I am getting back at Weight Watchers. For the last couple months I have not been keeping track of my points and have not been that great about getting a work out in, above and beyond my daily chores and yard work. I was still watching what I ate, and how much of it I ate, but I was not loosing. So, until I lose my goal, I am going to keep at Weight Watchers. Its a great program and well worth the money every month. I do not have the ability to attend meetings, so I use the online tools. I find them very helpful.

Total weight lost since Dec. 2009: 34 lbs

100th Post~ Fit Fridays

This is number 100! I so love using blogger. My sewing didn't progress as far as I would have likes, but I am also sewing a dress. 1914, no sleeves (for summer) our of a light tan linen blend with no Directions! I have misplaced them, and have no clue where they are! Oh well, I am doing just fine and am very happy with out its turning out. Its going to be a lovely dress for summer. If I really like it, I will make a couple more since most of my clothing is getting to big, and/or worn out!

I can now fit into couple skirts that I haven't been able to wear for about 3 years! Its like getting a new set of clothing, and what woman doesn't like that! :)

This has been going around facebook and I just love it. I am not out to get supper, model skinny, just back to being healthy so I can keep being a good wife and mama. I will never be slim and trim, its not how the woman in my family are build, because I have had 3 blessings and my hips have gotten wider, I will never be a size 6 , and I wouldn't want to! I am thankful for my imperfect body, stretch marks and all!

Women gain weight because we accumulate so much information & wisdom in our heads and when there is no more room, it's distributed to the rest of our bodies. So we aren't heavy~we are enormously cultured, educated & happy. Beginning today, when I look at my butt in the mirror I will think, 'Good grief, look how smart I am!

So, next time you look in the mirror, remember this!

Fit Friday's and a Quick Update

Nothing exciting to report this week. :) I didn't lose, but also didn't gain, which always makes me happy! Its seem to be how my body loses, I lose for a week or two, and then take a break and not lose for a week. I have been awful about doing my work outs, but have been very active out side in the yard, etc. My goal this week is to get back to doing my work outs the days I am not busy out side!

Dole Family Update: Please keep praying for them. Jethro was able to go "home" from the hospital this week, but they have no home to go to. Please pray for a home for them until they can rebuild their house. Also, the benefit for the family is tomorrow. Thanks to some hard working, generous people there are some pretty neat things to auction off. Mariners Grounds Keeper Package, Washington State Cougs tickets, Spokane Chiefs tickets, and ton of other things. If you can, come tomorrow. 1pm-? at the Plummer Middle school gym! :)

Fit Friday Week 15 ( I think)

Sorry for the lack of posting, its been kind of crazy here the last 3 weeks. :)

I weighted this morning and am down another 4 lbs! Yahoo. The last 3 weeks I have not been tracking my points, just making sure I eat well, and move. Its been working just fine. It wasnt my intention to not track my points, and I am back on track, tracking. Its rather nice to know that I don't need to be tracking if something comes up. Its all about making healthy choices, and being active!

Fit Fridays~ Week 13

Well, I am happy to say, even with our crazy week, and not really planning what I ate, that I didnt gain anything. But I also didn't lose. I am fine with this. It has been a rather stressful week and I know stress can play a huge role in to losing weight. I am pretty happy over all. :) My goals for this next week are to back on track points wise, and get lost of sunshine and enjoy a visit with my family. Aaron and I are coming up on 5 years of marriage and are planning on a date night tomorrow night. We are going to have dinner and walk around Down town Seattle for a while, stopping at The Market, Starbucks, and who knows where. It will be wonderful, and a great work out!

Jethro Update:

I talked to Tracy last night and Jethro is doing better. His lungs were small when he was born because of how large his hear it. But babies have this amazing way of regrowing lung tissue, which he is doing nicely. If he keeps looking this good he goes in for surgery tomorrow. Please pray that he does well. This would not be a complete fix for his heart, but will be a temp fix. This will be the first of 3 he will need. God has blessed him with an amazing left side of his heart, but a large and awful right side. What is going to happen over the next 3 (ish) years is that the docs will take off some of the right side, and basically just by bass and not use the right side. This is good. Please keep this little guy and family in your prayers!

Fit Fridays~ Week 11 and 12

It dawned on me earlier this week that I didn't post last week. Instead of making a post I decided to wait until today and just combined the two.

These last two weeks I have maintained how much I have lost. No gaining, but also no losing. I am a little disapointed, as I worked hard this week and gained 24 (!) activity point, and didn't use all of my indulgence point. Oh well, the whole point is to be healthy and I am. I am losing inches and need to take in my skirts something awful. Its rather a pain to have to keep pulling up your skirt when fixing the chicken and goat fence!

Have a wonderful weeked and Sabbath!

Fit Fridays~ Week 10

Well, I am pleased to say I lost another 2 lbs. :)

I was thinking about what to share today and decided I would share what I am doing to help me lose weight food wise. I am doing Weight Watchers to help me track and plan my meals. Something else I have done is cut down on sugar. I still have a little, say dessert on the Sabbath, or a bit of chocolate here and there, but no sugar in my tea, no sodas, no baked goodies. Its helped a ton. I am also focusing on eating less red meat and more chicken, turkey and fish. This is also helping our family save money, since red meat tends not to be put on sale for cheaper then chicken. I have upped how much veggies and fruit I am eating. Another thing, although we don't eat as much of it, is cutting out refined cards. We have been eating gluten free for the most part and everyone is the family is benefiting from that! :)

Well, off to finish my house cleaning. I took almost a day off (save making meals and a quick tidy) yesterday to sew. :) So I am playing catch up today. My sister is coming for a visit this weekend so see you next week!

Fit Fridays~weeks 8 & 9

Sorry about no post last week ( I was going to do it Sat, since Friday was Aaron's birthday) , we were having computer problems. You see, we just have a laptop as our main computer, and its well loved, so we though the eternet plug in place was toast. Turns out it was just the internet company!

Last week I was down another 1, making my total loss for 8 weeks 25 lbs! :)

This week I didnt lose, but I also didnt gain. I am not surprised. Its been a long, emotionally hard week. I ate right, but didnt work out much at all.

My goal this week to to make sure I drink all my water, which I am bad at. And take my vits, which I am also bad at :)

Yesterday we took advantage of the sun shinny weather...what ever happened to winter???? And when to play at the park. We loaded up the stroller and while the girls burned off some extra energy with Daddy, I walked around the park with Andrew. It was a wonderful 30 mins, until Flora fell and bonked her top lip. Then, because it was fat in a matter of a few seconds, we loaded back up and went and got some fruit juice Popsicle....that made her owie "Much better"

Fit Fridays ~ Week 7

This week I am happy to say I am down another lb. As for my goals, I only used 2 out of the 35 I get. I got my work out points up to 23. SO not as high as I had hoped, but I am pleased. I worked out almost every day, even if it was just for 15 mins.

I think that part of staying healthy is not being obsessed with it. It needs to just be habit. It needs to get to the point that if you don't move, you don't feel good. Our bodies were designed to move. Weight Watchers sure helps with that. Making it habit to pick that apple or a handful of baby carrots over something yucky and processed, when you need a little snack. I can now say I want to move, I want to work out every night, not just making my self do it because I "have" to.

Well we didnt make it to the gym this week (Clara was sick and Aaron was very busy), I still got a lot of moving in :)

Fit Fridays~ Week 6

Well, nothing lost this week but also nothing gained. I only got in 3 work outs this week. This is because I was feeling off last weekend, and then on Tuesday, while working out side, dropped a full sheet of t-111 siding on my foot, right at the base of my big toe. It's nice and bruised and is pretty painful, so not to much working out going on. All in all I am pretty happy with how this week went. Last week I set two goals for this week. One: Not to use my indulgence points. I did this. :) Two: to get my activity points higher them my indulgence points. I didn't do this. This my goal again for this week.

What do you guys do when hurt of feeling off or hurt to stay on track???

Fit Fridays~ Week 5

All in all a good week here. I am down another 3 lbs. :) I started doing a bit of weight training to help tone my arms and back. Along with my walking/ working out at the Wellness center, I am doing pilates and also T-Tapp. I like having a arsenal to use, so if one night/day I am not feeling like doing something, I don't have an excuse for not working out. My goal this week is to not use my indulgence points, and to get my activity points above my indulgence points! :)

This next week is Clara's birthday, so keep tuned for some fun pictures! :)

Fit Fridays~ Week 4.

These are my thoughts on getting in shape.

For the longest time I though I was being a bad wife and mom if I took time for myself, an hour a day, and worked out. I felt guilty about it. See I am funny. I like to do it on my own, not in front of a bunch of people. I dont mind the gem, because everyone is focused on THEIR work out, not me. Well, the more I though about it, prayed and studied, I discovered I was being a bad wife and mother if I DIDN'T take the time. You see, I am called to be a helper to my husband and to raise and teach my children. I am also told my body is a temple. How can I be those things, and take care of the body God gave me, if I let my self get SO out of shape??? In a world were we are the fattest nation, I needed to do something (!) or I would just be another one of the crowed. Not something I want, not something God wants. So I started to DO. I take about an hour every evening and work out. Either walking, pilates, or both. I joined Weight Watchers and started making sure I am eating good, wholesome, foods. As close to the way God made then as possible. We got a membership to the local Wellness center, where they have a huge pool, hot tub, kiddy pool and other equipment to help me achieve my goal.

Here this weeks loss.

Week: 3 lbs
1 inch off waist and 2 off arms.

4 week total: 19 lbs.

What are some of your favorite whole some recipes/foods?

Fit Fridays ~ Week 3

Good week this week. :) I am very please with how I did. I am down another 3 lbs making the weight loss total of 16 lbs in 3 weeks. I have also lost about (these are rough measurements, because I dont have the ones from early this summer) 4 inches off my weight and the fullest part of my tummy. And 3 inches off hips and chest.

We joined the local Wellness Center. Its $50 a month for our whole family and they have a great big pool and kiddy pool with a duck slid the kids just love. They also have a work out area. We are looking forward to getting ALL our money out of it. My mom uses the water for her workouts, and would go down almost daily when here. For a day pass its $5 per adult (the kids were free). So its saving us a lot of money if we can all go and work out 4 or 5 times a week. The days Aaron is off we will all get in the water and play. On the land days...aka....Aaron is on call. We will take turns using the machines and the kids can run around and play on the basketball courts.

This week my goal this week is to keep up what I am doing. I am feeling stronger and have more energy. I am losing and my clothing is fitting looser.

Hope you all have a blessed Sabbath!

Fit Fridays.....um..Saturday :) Week 2

Second week down and still doing good. I didn't have a very good week. Although I still lost 5 lbs. I was hoping for more. I know, 5 is still losing and is good. :) I got in a work out 5 days out of the seven and that makes me feel great! :)

I have to say a word about my wonderful husband. While I am endeavoring to lose this weight and get healthy, he has been putting the girls to bed so I can work out in the evenings. I SO respect him and his help! He is a wonderful blessing and encouragement!

Well, my mom is here visit for the week, so I am off to tidy the house, so when she gets back from town I can just sit and enjoy her! Night!

PS. Still no camera cord.....I wonder what I did with it?
